Tariq Aziz - A Poet, Politician and Philanthropist



He was born in 1936 and later went on to become a host, anchor, actor, poet, politician, and philanthropist. Got his early education from Jalandhar, India and then migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1947. He started his career at Radio Pakistan and was the first man to be seen on TV as the first PTV announcer in 1964. 

He worked in the movie Insaniyat with Waheed Muran and Zeba. While one of his films called Salgira went on to win 2 Nigar Awards.

His political career started from the platform of Pakistan Peoples Party in 1970. However, he parted ways and went back to the showbiz industry.  Later he again stepped into politics from Pakistan Muslim League's platform and became Member National Assembly for 2 years but to rejoin showbiz after getting sidelined by the party members. 

Also, he was known for his poetry reading. Neelam Ghar, Bazm e Tariq Aziz and Tariq Aziz Show were the main origins of his fame. Today various other game shows like Jeeto Pakistan and Inam Ghar etc are running based on the same idea.  

Today he passed away on 17th June 2020. Although he had no child, he donated all of his earnings and wealth for the welfare of the country.
